oliveira uses tapumes, which in portugese can mean fencing, boarding, or enclosure, as a title for many of his large-scale installations. the term makes reference to the temporary wooden construction fences seen throughout the city of são paulo where oliveira lives.

Denver Airports Controversial 32 FT Zombie Mustang Sculpture.

The back-story here is that the sculptor, Luis Jimenez was killed in 2006 when after completing this sculpture, it toppled over onto him, severing his femoral artery (inner thigh) and killing him from exsanguination. Enjoy this picture because, this sculpture is being removed due to its’ controversial nature.
